+# Component source layout
+
+Each component folder contains:
+
+- `index.html`: one or more named HTML templates. Root pages load them with `index.html#fragment`.
+- `style/index.css`: the component styles.
+- `component.js`: the local-file compatible registry generated from `index.html`.
+- `img/`: only the image assets referenced by that component.
+
+`shared/` contains global tokens, base styles, the component loader, and shared glyph samples.
+The complete pre-organization snapshot is stored under `../old/`.
+
+After editing a component `index.html`, run `python src-web/sync-components.py` from the project root.
